Hi there 🤚 I am Metin Arslantürk the founder of Metricalp. I am a software engineer with 10+ years of experience. I have bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Master's Degree in Information Management. I worked in many different companies. Some of them were startup and some of them were huge tech giants (like Cisco). I took role in very different scale web projects in these companies. While working in these web projects, the analytics was always a big topic. I used Google Analytics and very different tools in all these projects. I always had the same questions, why this is so complex? While this is so slow? Why this is so expensive? Why this company is not caring our customers privacy. After all these questions, I decided to build my own web analytics tool and Metricalp was born. While I was deeply experienced with analytics tool in web projects, I also got my master degree about information/data management.
So, this project was like a finalization for my skills. While we are on 2020s, we, as web developers, deserve a privacy friendly, fast, easy to use, easy to integrate and cheap web analytics tool. This is the main goal of Metricalp. Passion for privacy, passion for performance was the 2 main reasons why I started this project. My target is providing an affordable, robust, fast and privacy focused web analytics tool. I felt like I owed to provide a quality product to community. Like as said in cover image of this article, "Do something great". While I believe I achieved these basics with my current product, I am planning to add AI features and mobile analytics support in future to make it more passionable.
